First I will start off by describing what minimalist web design is.  Chances are if you have spent anytime online you have come across minimalist design whether it be through ads, website style, logo design, various graphic designs or product packaging.  So what is minimalist design?  In minimalist design Less is More!  Yes that’s right, the less you have without cluttering a web page the simpler and cleaner  it will look.  One of the hardest things to do as a graphic designer or web designer is to make the best use of white space.  White space is the part of the design that has nothing in it.  If you go back just a few years to when distressing and clutter were popular, you will not see much use of white space.  It is much easier to create a design or website that just looks too busy.  Today minimalist web design is becoming more and more poplar because it is easy for visitors to navigate and it just looks clean, simple and beautiful.  Take out the distressing elements, cluttered backgrounds, and over use of shadows and gradients and you begin to have minimalist web design.  Though you can have backgrounds and textures while still accomplishing a minimalist look and feel.  Since minimalist design has less, layout is a key element to making it look good.  White space in the wrong areas can make the design look awkward or unbalanced.

Logo Design Sacramento-Designs by Advnt Design.  This logo design Sacramento project was an especially fun project to create.  The company this logo was designed for is called Upgrade Swap, which is located in the Sacramento area.  Upgrade Swap is a one of a kind company that allows a person who is not eligible for an upgrade on their cell phone to pay a lower price for a brand new cell phone.  It also allows a person who is eligible for an upgrade, but is happy with their current cell phone to buy the upgrade and sell it to make a little extra money.

What is Branding?

Branding is the act of establishing a brand’s uniqueness and meaning through creating and managing the signals that convey the idea.  These signals communicate what the brand is all about.  Branding can communicate in any way that touches our 5 senses.

Effective Branding:

1. For branding to be effective it has to be original and true to what your brand is all about.  There are many other businesses or companies doing the same thing that yours is.  Therefore, you must give the consumer a good reason to come to you rather than the competition.

2. You must narrow your focus down to communicate your message effectively.  Find your niche and stick with it.  If you try to appeal to everybody, you will appeal to no one.

3. Your brand must attract and be relevant to your Target Market or Audience.  Research what your target audience is looking for and what service, product, or message will draw them to your brand.  Know what their need or problem is so you can provide the solution to their need or fix their problem.
